My name is Andrew Chester, better known to my patients as Andrew. I graduated UQ in 1987 and completed my internship at Nambour General Hospital. I stayed at NGH for five years for the opportunity to rotate through all the major departments and then travelled to UK for an anaesthetic rotation in 1993. I spent the twelve months in England with my wife Leigh-Anne, before returning to Queensland, Australia and the completion of my Fellowship training in General Practice in 1995. I have worked extensively in private GP since then on the Sunshine Coast and have been involved in neurolept anaesthetics , geriatric care, and all facets of general medical care in GP. I have personal interest in my family of four children (now all above 21 years old and studying, if now graduated). I enjoy connecting with patients and staff alike, and enjoy cycling, bushwalking and gardening.
I consider myself lucky to work in medicine and gain great delight in the connections with my patients helping “make a difference” in their physical and mental health.
